OFFICINE BOIARDO
Via Matteo Maria Boiardo, 6 Milano
Officine Boiardo is a manufacturing and invention workshop. These artifacts are developed and built for specific needs when they are installed in residential plants, offices, shops, or they are totally formal researches, unique pieces, whose aim is to develop artistic objects. Officine Boiardo is located in the heart of NoLo Design District, inside an old Artificial Flowers factory.
At last, my youthful dream come true.
Officine Boiardo si trova nel cuore di NoLo Design District, all’interno di una vecchia fabbrica di Fiori Artificiali. Officine Boiardo è un laboratorio dove le idee prendono forma e diventano originali manufatti da installare in abitazioni, uffici e negozi. Talvolta, invece, rimangono ricerche formali, pezzi unici, tentativi di realizzare vere e proprie opere d’arte.
Finalmente il sogno della mia giovinezza è diventato realtà.

MANDALA
Mandala experience has been fundamental in my personal growth. For many years I frequented this group of people intensively and passionately. Like many great stories of our lives it suddenly came to the end. They are and will always remain in my heart.
è stata fondamentale nella mia crescita personale. Per molti anni ho frequentato, intensamente e appassionatamente, questo gruppo di persone. Come spesso accade alle nostre numerose grandi storie della nostra vita, si è concluso improvvisamente. Tutti loro, però, sono e rimarranno sempre nel mio cuore.

I'm back! Nowadays I'm an adjunct professor in Product Design at Politecnico di Milano School of Design. My aim is to help young designers to develop and define good projects and generally to deliver their final degree work.
Sono tornato! Al momento sono professore a contratto di Design del Prodotto. Il mio obiettivo è aiutare i giovani designer a sviluppare e delineare buoni progetti oltre a curare le loro tesi di laurea

I graduated in Architecture, at Politecnico di Milano with Ezio Manzini. My thesis was related with sustainability, supermarket, packaging, industrial processes, and most of all, Service Design. I supposed that industrial design could have a real opportunity in developing environmentally friendly solutions in contemporary world.
Mi sono laureato in Architettura al Politecnico di Milano con Ezio Manzini. La mia tesi si occupava di sostenibilità, supermercati, imballaggi, processi industriali e più di ogni altra cosa, di Design dei Servizi. Avevo ipotizzato che il design potesse avere un’opportunità reale nello sviluppo di soluzioni ambientalmente sostenibili nel mondo contemporaneo.

Villasanta
I suppose that Villasanta project will never be developed. In despite of this I love this work, one of my best, and probably is an attempt to think up a different conceivable future for our suburbs. A huge area, an old abandoned refinery, a super polluted area, a vision of a different way to live.
Il progetto per l'area di Villasanta non sarà mai sviluppato, presumo. Nonostante ciò adoro questo lavoro, che considero uno dei miei migliori. Probabilmente è il tentativo di immaginare un futuro diverso, ma possibile delle periferie urbane. Si tratta dell'area gigantesca di una vecchia raffineria abbandonata, un sito super inquinato, che può rappresentare la visione di un modo diverso di vivere.

Ericsson project started in Michele De Lucchi Studio, and it was directly committed by Stockholm headquarters. When I finished my stay in aMDL studio, I followed up the building process on my own as artistic supervisor. On the top of Erzelli hill, the building grew up with high quality standards, according to Ericsson's needs
Il progetto per Ericsson iniziò presso lo Studio di Michele De Lucchi, e fu una commessa arrivata direttamente dal quartier generale di Stoccolma. Una volta conclusasi la mia presenza nello studio aMDL, ho continuato a seguire il cantiere come supervisore artistico. L'edificio è cresciuto sulla sommita della collina degli Erzelli con elevati standard di qualità, in conformità delle esigenze di Ericsson

Los Angeles Institute of Architecture and Design, LAIAD, is a space of ideas and beautiful projects. I've been lucky to meet William Taylor, a great American Architect! I have been invited to present my ideas about architecture and design on the occasion of an event at Brewery Artwalk in LA, in March 2011. It was a great success.
Il Los Angeles Institute of Architecture and Design, LAIAD, è un luogo di idee e progetti meravigliosi. Ho avuto la fortuna di incontrare William Taylor, un grande architetto americano! Sono stato invitato a presentare le mie idee di architettura e design in occasione di un particolare evento alla Brewery Artwalk di LA, nel marzo del 2011, riscuotendo un grande successo.
KENDO
I met Kendo practice at Mandala but my significant experience was at Periagogè. To tell the truth, at the time I was with that group of friends and with whom I shared moments of intense beauty, Periagogè did not existed in the actual shape, but you could glimpse the appearance of that project, under development.
Ho incontrato la pratica di Kendo al Mandala, ma la mia grande esperienza è stata con Periagogè. A dire il vero al tempo in cui frequentavo questo gruppo di amici, con i quali ho avuto la fortuna di condividere momenti di grande bellezza, Periagogè non esisteva nella forma attuale, ma si intravvedevano i tratti, ancora in gestazione, di questo progetto

J&A Consultants headquarters are in the heart of Milano and they were the first project I developed after I have left Michele De Lucchi studio. They have been very special to me both for care and attention I put in this project and for the humanity in the people I met there, Giorgio Montagna and John Iorio.
Gli uffici di J&A Consultants sono nel cuore di Milano, e sono stati il primo progetto che ho sviluppato dopo essere uscito dallo studio di Michele De Lucchi. Per me rivestono un'importanza speciale sia per la cura e l'attenzione che ho messo in questo progetto sia per la qualità delle persone che ho incontrato lì, come Giorgio Montagna e John Iorio.

PALAZZO LITTA
When I went to the building site of Corso Magenta 24 for the first time, I could never believe I was in Downtown Milano. The pictures summarize the history. I started this project in aMDL studio, and then I followed the progress as an outsider. Despite a bit of suffering I really appreciated the great result.
Quando sono entrato per la prima volta nel cantiere di Corso Magenta 24 non potevo credere di essere nel cuore di Milano. Davanti a me le immagini sintetizzavano tutta la storia. Ho iniziato questo progetto in studio aMDL, e successivamente ho seguito i progressi come esterno. Malgrado un po’ di sofferenza, ho realmente apprezzato il grande risultato finale.

DE LUCCHI
I met Michele De Lucchi for the first time in Treviso at one of Fabrica events. I listened to his words, and I could never imagine at the time that he would have had an extraordinary impact in my following lifetime. I became his assistant at IUAV Treviso, partner in studio practice, friend. For him and with him I was involved in marvelous projects, among all others, Triennale di Milano interior refurbishment.
Ho incontrato Michele De Lucchi per la prima volta a una conferenza di Fabrica a Treviso. Nell’ascoltare le sue parole, non avrei mai immaginato a quel tempo che avrebbe avuto un impatto così forte e straordinario nella mia vita successiva. Sono diventato suo assistente allo IUAV Treviso, collaboratore nel suo studio, amico. Per lui e con lui sono stato coinvolto in progetti meravigliosi, sopra tutti la ristrutturazione della Triennale di Milano

Angel is a very delicate project, drawn with my daughter, and developed on laser cut and engraved solid wood.
Angel è un progetto, molto delicato, disegnato con mia figlia, e realizzato su legno massello tagliato e inciso al laser.

TARANTO
Taranto La Mongolfiera Shopping Center has been one of my best experiences with Coop Estense. They let me express with great freedom. It was the attempt to insert a good architectonic quality both in the architectural design and in the building, close to the huge Ilva factory.
Il centro commerciale La Mongolfiera di Taranto è stato una delle più belle esperienze di collaborazione con Coop Estense, che mi diede l’opportunità di esprimermi con grande libertà. Fu il tentativo di inserire un’alta qualità architettonica sia nel disegno sia nella costruzione a poca distanza dal grande stabilimento dell'Ilva.

SKEY
Skey in Venetian vernacular means coins, and which title could has been better for a series of musine, piggybank in Venetian vernacular, produced by Murano's Andromeda International and design by Treviso IUAV students? At the time I was Michele De Lucchi's assistant professor, and this project was exhibited at Milano Triennale.
Skey in dialetto veneto vuol dire monete, e quale titolo poteva essere più adatto per una serie di musine, salvadanai in dialetto veneto, realizzate dal Andromeda International di Murano su progetto degli studenti dello IUAV di Treviso? All'epoca ero l’assistente di Michele De Lucchi e questo progetto venne esposto alla Triennale di Milano.

PORDENONE
Coop Nord-Est Meduna Shopping Center in Pordenone had a long history, lasted more than twenty years, without having the capability to be developed. The project I designed in this situation has been carried out very fast, and helped to give solution to this place. On the background the position and the view of the mountains helped a lot to give a powerful image to this site.
Il Centro Commerciale Meduna di Coop Nord-Est a Pordenone aveva alle spalle una lunga storia, più di vent'anni di inutili tentativi di realizzazione. Il progetto che ho sviluppato in questo caso però si è svolto molto rapidamente, e ha contribuito a dare una soluzione a questo luogo. La posizione e la vista delle montagne in lontananza hanno dato a questo luogo un potente impatto visivo

PORDENONE-RISORGIMENTO
Imagine a huge bus station in the middle of a Sixties anonymous suburban square. This was Piazza Risorgimento in Pordenone. This project, coming from Studio aMDL, is the greenery, wood and stone solution to a great problem.
Immaginate una gigantesca stazione di autobus al centro di una piazza anonima degli anni Sessanta. Ecco com’era piazza Risorgimento a Pordenone. Questo progetto, che proviene dallo Studio aMDL, è la soluzione verdeggiante, legnosa e pietrosa di un grosso problema urbanistico.

Eleven Tower City is a project I developed with my daughter. She developed the drawings, I built the towers, her teacher wrote the poem. We built the city for the first and last time at TechMe in Venezia, in 2006. Currently the restoration and the completion are being held.
La Città delle Undici Torri è un progetto che ho sviluppato con mia figlia. Lei ha disegnato le torri, io le ho costruite, la sua maestra ne ha scritto la storia. Abbiamo costruito la città per la prima e ultima volta a TechMe a Venezia, nel 2006. Attualmente è in corso il restauro e il completamento della città.

I drew several different shopping centers in my life. In Fiumara the shopping center was an existing building and the goal was to make it more light and pleasant. I think I reached the goal.
Ho disegnato diversi centri commerciali nella mia vita. A Fiumara il centro commerciale c'era già e l'obiettivo era di renderlo più leggero e gradevole. Penso di esserci riuscito.

VICOLUNGO
Vicolungo Outlet has been my greatest architectural and building experience. When I came to the site for the first time there was a sweep rice-fields on the land. When I left, 232,000 square meters have been built. I'll never forget the excitement of the moment, never!
Vicolungo Outlet è stata la mia più grande esperienza di progettazione e realizzazione architettonica. Quando sono arrivato per la prima volta lì c'era solo un’enorme distesa di risaie. Quando sono andato via, erano stati costruiti 232.000 metri quadrati. Non dimenticherò mai l’entusiasmo di quel momento. Mai!

Josephine is a glass lamp. Thinking at Madame Baker, Alexander Calder, metal wire, stones, light. It's very big!
Josephine è una lampada di vetro. Disegnata pensando alla Signora Baker, Alexander Calder. È realizzata in fil di ferro, sassi, luce. È molto grande!
